Recap of July 2010 Tournament
Our Aliso Viejo Gu10 National Team returned home from Florida with memories that will last a lifetime. The week long event held in West Palm Beach started with the opening ceremonies and parade of teams.
At the Soccerfest, all the girls in the U10 division were divided into 14 teams consisting of girls from across the nation.
The girls played 2 games with their new team and spent the day together getting to know each other and making new friends. They exchanged pins from their City and information to keep in touch.
There was a youth event, at night, with activities, music and fun for the whole family. The tournament, located at the Wellington International Polo fields, followed with five games for our division. We played teams from Florida, Hawaii and Northern California.
The AV Sonic team walked away with a Top Sportsmanship Award.
The team had an incredible experience meeting new friends, bonding with their team and enjoying Florida. We
spent time at the beach, dinners by the pool, visiting the alligators, riding the water taxi along the Inter-Coastal,
watching a Polo match and so much more. We would all like to thank Region 889 board members, families, and
the Aliso Viejo Community for supporting our team and giving us the opportunity to appreciate all of what AYSO has to offer.
