Beginner Regional Referee Companion Course (9am (8:45am check-in) **
Intermediate Referee Course on Friday Feb. 10th(5:30pm-9:30pm)/Saturday Feb 11th (8am-5pm)
(** Must complete and pass online version PRIOR to attending In-Person**)
To take these classes, you must pre-register though the AYSOU (ETrainU) Website.
(NO Walk-ins Allowed).
Classes are filling up fast so REGISTER FOR THE CLASS then complete the pre-requisite online classes by following the steps below:

1. Sign up as to become a Certified volunteer (Even Returning Referees must do this step every Fall or Spring)
Login to this website www.ayso889.org (click the LOGIN button at the top right)
If you don't already have an account, click REGISTER NOW
Click "Volunteer" on the menu on the left
NOTE - you may have to click "FIND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES" at the top right

2. Complete pre-requisite Volunteer online training courses.
Login to your account as above, click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page.
To be considered a Certified Volunteer for AYSO Region 889, you MUST complete the following online courses that are part of the
Safe Haven "umbrella" AND the volunteer specific training for a particular position such as Coach, Referee or Board Member.

- AYSO's Safe Haven
- CDC Concussion Awareness
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
- SafeSport (New as of Jan 1, 2022) *
Note: The first three courses are available on AYSOU (EtrainU) website.
* SafeSport is taken on an external website (see below).

You do not need to provide a MembershipID, select your Volunteer Role (Admin, Coach, Official, etc) and for
Name of Sport or Community Organization, type: AYSO Region 889
3. All volunteers must complete a background check and be fingerprinted via Live Scan.
(Minors do not get fingerprinted. )
STERLING VOLUNTEERS BACKGROUND CHECK
Anyone who would like to volunteer as a Coach, Referee or Board Member MUST consent to a criminal background check in order to determine whether they are eligible.
After you submit a volunteer application, if you are a new Volunteer or your background check has expired or near expiration you will receive an email from
Sterling Volunteers asking you to complete the AYSO Volunteer Application (you must click the link).
Please look for that email and complete this step as soon as possible.
FINGERPRINTING
All volunteers must be fingerprinted via Live Scan. Follow these options:
Register and attend a live event, where Region 889 will pay your fee.

Live Scan Fingerprinting – 8:30am – 1pm Will be available at the Region 41 event.
4. Attend Life In person appropriate Training Course(s) (mention above):

Complete these steps to complete the Regional Referee Training Course (this is Part 1 of 2)
PART 1:
Login to your account at www.ayso889.org click the Volunteer menu on the left and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page.
1. On our training site, click "Training Library" on the left
2. Training Library Click Refereeing (click View Courses)…
3. Click “Regional Referee - Online + In Person Companion Course (2 Part Bundle)" ENROLL button
4. Follow instructions and complete the online course.
PART 2:
Register/Attend Regional Referee Companion Course. (This is part 2 of 2 - an in-person course)
Register for the classroom session on the AYSOU (EtrainU) website:
1. On our training site, click "Training Event" on the left
2. Search Region 41 for Feb 11 on the calendar
3. Click “Regional Referee - Online + In Person Companion Course (2 Part Bundle)" ENROLL
