REFEREE NEWSLETTER - Pre-Seaon Preview #1

Hello Region 889 Referees -

The season is less than two weeks away with the first two games on Friday, Sept. 6 and continuing through the weekend. If have not already, please ensure you have updated you Background Check and SafeSport. You can now start scheduling your games in MatchTrak. Please note, not all games have been scheduled and some are subject to change.

Links to useful information and documentation can be found at the bottom of this newsletter. They include U8 game guidelines, administrative items and other details.

This weekly newsletter will be sent out on Mondays and will be tweaked and adjusted as the season progresses.

Match Mentor Day - Saturday, August 31

Great event for new referees and those needing a refresh or moving up. We have scrimmage games available all throughout the day.- get relaxed experience on field with a mentor!

Pre-Season Referee Meeting - Sept. 3, 6:45 - 8:15 pm @ Aliso Viejo Middle School Library

Earn a Region point for your attendance. Up to 3 points per team max.

Fall Season Reminders

Coaches and Assistant Coaches are required to wear their 2024 Coach ID Card at each match. (File a Match Report, if this is not the case)
Pre-printed names on lineup cards are required (File a Match Report, if this is not the case) - numbers can be handwritten.
Handwritten players are ineligible and may not participate.
DOGS/PETS are NEVER allowed at AYSO games, practices, or events.
3/4 play rule is in effect for all non-Extras teams (No player may play 4 quarters until ALL teammates have played at least 3 quarters (including goalkeeper). File a Match Report and email me the lineup card, if this is not the case.
