AYSO EXTRA Program at Region 889 (Aliso Viejo Soccer) follows specific formats of play and age classifications mandated by the U.S. Soccer Federation for competitive youth soccer.
Format of Play
- 9U and 10U: 7v7 format with a maximum roster of 10 players.
- 11U and 12U: 9v9 format with a maximum roster of 12 players.
- 13U and above: 11v11 format with a maximum roster of 15 players.
EXTRA Age Matrix (2026-2027 Season) The age matrix determines player eligibility based on birth year for the Fall 2026 season, aligned with the school year program. Below is the matrix for key age groups:
